General questions:


1) I need more help with my gambling problem. What do I do?
The Self-Help Gambling Tools are not a good option for people in crisis. We recommend that those in crisis go to their nearest hospital emergency room or contact 911 for immediate assistance.

If you would like to talk to someone about your, or someone else’s, gambling, we recommend contacting the Ontario Problem Gambling Helpline at 1-888-230-3505.


2) I need help with the Self-Help Gambling Tools features. Who do I contact?

3) Who developed the Self-Help Gambling Tools?
These tools were developed by the Problem Gambling Institute of Ontario at the Centre for Addiction and Mental Health. Development was funded by the Ministry of Health and Long-Term Care.


4) Is my information anonymous and private?
When you register, we suggest you use an email account and nickname that won't identify you. We are committed to maintaining the privacy of all individuals who use the resources available at www.ProblemGambling.ca. Please visit our privacy pages to learn more about our commitment to protecting your personal information.

6) How do I register to access the Self-Help Gambling Tools?
Registering on ProblemGambling.ca’s Self-Help Gambling Tools Site allows you to access only the self-help gambling tools on ProblemGambling.ca. Click here to create your account. (Note: This account will not access the ProblemGambling.ca Professional Groups. If you are a helping professional, a separate account must be created. See question #8.)


7) How do I delete/edit my account information from Self-Help Gambling Tools?
Registered users can click on their nickname at the top of the page next to “welcome” to access their profile and make changes to their personal information. Personal information can be deleted by contacting webmaster@ProblemGambling.ca.


8) How do I register to access the ProblemGambling.ca Professional Groups?
Step one: If you are a helping professional and you would like to become involved in a group, you must be a registered user of ProblemGambling.ca. Click here to register.
Step two: Once you have registered and signed-in, click here to see the groups available. If you meet the membership criteria, you can select the group name and a request will be sent to the group moderator. (Note: This account will not access the Self-Help Gambling Tools. If you would like to access the Self-Help Gambling Tools, a separate account must be created. See question #6.)


9) How do I delete/edit my account information from ProblemGambling.ca Professional Groups?
Registered users can click on “My Settings” to make changes to their personal information or personal information can be deleted by contacting webmaster@ProblemGambling.ca.

10) I registered but did not receive my password verification email. What do I do?
Check you junk mailbox as your spam filter may have directed the email there.

14) I forgot my username for Self-Help Gambling Tools. What is it?
To login to the Self-Help Gambling Tools, simply enter in the email you used to create the account.


15) I forgot my username for ProblemGambling.ca Professional Groups. What is it?
If you are a helping professional, you will need to remember your username. Enter your email into the password reset form. Your username will be emailed to you. You do not have to reset your password.
